Designated Medical Providers

The Workers Compensation rules state the employer should designate a clinic for the injured worker to go to for medical evaluation if he is injured on the job. If the employer does not designate a medical provider then the worker has the right to be seen by a medical provider of his choice. It is best to designate the medical provider, make sure your employees know who that is. It is best to use a clinic an employer is familiar with who understands worker compensation issues. A post drug screen is highly recommended. A designated medical provider will usually perform the post drug screen.
